Change is inevitable, however, change can also be fun. If theme parks didn’t change and update often, visitors would tire of the same-old-same-old and look for newer, more exciting ventures. That's why your Florida holidays 2017 will be full of change and nobody understands this more than Disney World. For that very reason, Downtown Disney is changing. It will transform into Disney Springs.
Not just an overhaul of the same-old-same-old, this venue is bringing new shopping and dining, and entertainments. Two new pedestrian bridges will allow visitors access from the parking lots and partner resorts to Disney Springs. No more ducking and dodging traffic and waiting for the lights to change. Just take the short walk across the bridge.
The Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, with its Indiana Jones style, will be a new bar where adults can relax and have a cool drink on a hot day. Reggie, Jock’s old boat, is dry-docked outside and will provide outdoor seating for the bar, which will hold 150 guests at a time. Rolling Boulder Meatballs and pretzels with beer cheese will be served as small plates along with drinks like the Hovito Mojito.
Upscale dining can be found at The Boathouse. This restaurant will feature antique mahogany boats, Italian water taxis and waterfront dining. The Boathouse will offer diners seafood, American food and steakhouse-style entrees. A 40-ft boat will hold champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries. Classy dining for Disney Springs visitors.
For great Pan-Asian food, the Iron Chef himself, Masaharu Morimoto, will be inspiring dishes in his restaurant, Morimoto Asia. This two-story structure will have private rooms, a cocktail lounge, a grand hall and beautiful terraces that open to the waterfront. Visitors can be sure that real Asian flavors will abound in this new Disney Springs restaurant.
The WonderGround Gallery is now open in the Market Co-op. Here, Disney art lovers can stroll through, looking at Mickey, Magic Mountain, and more. Those looking for a great piece of art can purchase these works by Jerrod Maruyama and other Disney artist.
Of course, things had to be torn down or replaced in Disney Springs. United World Soccer is gone, but if rumors are true, a new Marvel store is coming. Timing will coincide with the new Avengers movie. Guests will be able to purchase t-shirts, mugs, and more…if the current talk is fact rather than fiction.
The Marketplace Margarita Bar has been torn down. Things change. These changes are for the better, though. The Marketplace Margarita Bar has been rebuilt, bigger and better. Everything is ready for this bar to start serving drinks, although a grand-opening probably won’t be held until fall.
When everything is completed in 2016/2017, Disney Springs will have 150 shops, restaurants and entertainments for visitors. The whole place will have the feel of a lakeside town at the turn-of-the-century. Disney Springs will be divided into four ‘neighborhoods’, including The Landing and Town Center.
With all of the talk going around, Disney Springs is going to a real delight for guest to enjoy. Make your vacation plans today.
